Trustees to the Board

We are looking for up to three new Trustees to join the Board. These are appointments to which you will bring your expertise and experience to help deliver our mission and which will provide suitable candidates with a rewarding challenge.
We are particularly looking for individuals with previous Board experience and/or expertise in:
  • Finance
  • Children’s and Disability Health;
  • Disability Policy;
  • Marketing
  • Digital
  • Charity Sector;
  • Delivery in Wales;
 
If you are  innovative and proactive, with demonstrable experience and clear alignment with our vision and mission, then we look forward to hearing from you.

The role can be located anywhere in Wales as meetings are conducted primarily online.  We are particularly keen to hear from candidates in North, West or Mid Wales.  Candidates with suitable experience will be considered from other locations.

Voluntary with expenses for travel in the duties of the role reimbursed.

The role 
 
  • Ensuring the charity complies with legislative and regulatory requirements, and acts within the confines of its governing documents and in furtherance to organisational activities contained therein.
  • Acting in the best interest of the charity, beneficiaries and future beneficiaries at all times.
  • Maintaining sound financial management of the charity’s resources, ensuring expenditure is in line with the organisation’s objects
  • Support with fundraising activity.
  • Establish and monitor standards and policies and maintain the highest standards of trustee conduct.
  • Contribute actively to the Board of Trustees by bringing your own skills and broad experience for the greater good of the organisation
  • Maintain proper fiscal oversight – securing sufficient resources to fulfil the mission and monitor the spending and accounts alongside the approval of the annual financial statement and budget.
 
Specific roles:

Finance
  • Preparing the annual report and accounts and filing with necessary authorities
  • Gift aid preparation and reclaim
  • Identifying areas to maximise potential revenues for the charity and members

Children’s and Disability Health;
  • Working with the WHSSC and bodies to promote and meet the charities aims and mission
  • Identifying opportunities to expand support to members and putting agreed opportunities in place
  • Research and prepare supporting documentation to promote the charities mission within the relevant health services sector

Disability Policy;
  • Identifying opportunities to expand support to members and putting agreed opportunities in place
  • Research and prepare supporting documentation to promote the charities mission within disability services
  • Work with relevant authorities to promote and meet the charities aims and mission


Marketing
  • Identification of marketing opportunities to support and promote the aims and mission of the charity
  • Preparation of support material and content to promote the charities aims and mission
  • Identify media opportunities and liaise with relevant press outlets in conjunction with other trustees and/or members
  • Publication of appropriate content via the media and/or the charity website

Event Planning

  • Identify opportunities to maximise fundraising for the charity
  • Cost benefit analysis of identified opportunities
  • Management and implementation of agreed events with the assistance of volunteers

Digital
  • Management of digital strategy for the charity- currently via Facebook and Twitter
  • Identification and implementation of new digital opportunities to meet the charities aims and mission
  • Preparation of content in conjunction with other trustees
  • Assessment of effectiveness of digital strategy
